It’s our goal for patients to receive the best care in a healing, warm and state-of-the-art environment. The design, management, staffing and operation of the hospital are all focused on the patient’s needs and overall comfort. It is our purpose to deliver quality patient-focused care in a compassionate manner and family members are always welcome and encouraged to become involved in the care and recovery of loved ones.
Your caregiver team will consist of a nurse, a patient care partner, the dietary staff, and possibly a respiratory therapist, radiology technician and pharmacist. One of our Hospitalist team members will also be in charge of your care. The Hospitalist Team consists of several physicians board certified in internal medicine as well as midlevel providers, all belonging to the Milagro Medical Group, PC. They will focus on, manage and coordinate your care much the same way your primary care physician would. They also assist in providing a safe discharge from the hospital.
We are also committed to providing patients and their families with the education they need to help understand their diagnosis and their recovery process. While in the hospital, patients can view educational programs on their patient room televisions. Choices include heart surgery, special procedures, heart disease, diabetes, general health information, and healthy lifestyle changes. We encourage our patients to utilize this resource for their continued education.
The Heart Hospital is also dedicated to patient safety and quality of care. We strive every day to meet the national goals set by The Joint Commission (JCAHO) which include patient safety, infection control, medication protocols and many other standards of service.
Directions
The Heart Hospital of New Mexico is conveniently located on an eight-acre tract of land off Interstate 25 near downtown Albuquerque and is close to several hotels and eating establishments.
From I-25, take the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. exit and go west toward downtown. Turn right (north) on Elm Street. The hospital is on the east side of the street.
